Wallpaper - Ginko Folly, Petrol Ink

Our Ginko Folly, Petrol Ink wallpaper brings an elegant rhythmic structure to the wall through layered, fan-shaped ginkgo leaves. Designed by Wallism Studio, the motif combines deep petrol blue and dark inky tones with fine line details that define each scalloped leaf. The repeating arch-like geometry creates a calm visual tempo that balances botanical elegance with an Art Deco feel. Like all of our wallpapers, this design is made-to-measure and printed on PVC-free paper with a subtle surface structure.

In the room

The dense, overlapping geometry of this wallpaper gives it a grounding presence across both large and smaller rooms. In a dining room or an entryway, we would use it across all four walls to create an immersive, tailored backdrop that feels architectural and refined. The motif also works beautifully on a feature wall in a bedroom behind a bed or in a living room behind a sofa, where the darker palette anchors the seating area without overwhelming the space. Because the repeat has a steady, medium scale, it holds its detail well on wide open walls while still fitting naturally onto narrower, fragmented walls interrupted by doorways or windows.

Styling it

To complement the rich, deep tones of our mural wallpapers, we suggest pairing this design with warm wood finishes such as walnut or smoked oak to bring out the warmth in the darker background. Clean-lined furniture in matte black metal or warm brass elements will pick up on the subtle Art Deco character without making the room feel overly formal. For upholstery and textiles, we like using heavier textured fabrics in soft oatmeal, charcoal, or deep moss green to echo the natural leaf motifs while letting the wallpaper carry the decorative focus.

Colour combinations

The design is built around deep petrol blue, inky navy, and muted slate undertones, with delicate linework outlining each leaf. For adjacent walls and painted woodwork, we recommend pairing this wallpaper with soft off-whites, warm greys, or muted stone tones to provide a clean, balanced contrast. If you want a more enveloped, tonal atmosphere, deep teal, slate blue, or charcoal on nearby trim and skirting boards will tie in seamlessly with the dark ink base of the pattern.
